A popular musical event returns to the stage at the weekend when Wellington Arts Centre hosts the John Walker Band annual charity concert on Saturday 29 July.
This popular musical event is once again raising funds for the Somerset Unit for Radio Therapy Equipment (S.U.R.E) and the title of the concert this year will be ‘Stars and Stripes’. John said, “It will feature some of our favourite songs from the USA and will feature music by Neil Diamond, The Eagles, Lionel Ritchie, The Band, Bob Dylan, Gershwin, Springsteen, John Denver, James Taylor, Carole King and many more. The band is really pleased to welcome Kevin Coughlin and Dilly Croxall into the mix and the show promises to be a colourful celebration of all genres of music.
“We’re so pleased to be playing at our favourite local venue, the Wellington Arts Centre, and look forward to the continued support of our loyal audience.”
Members of the band have been together for 11 years, raising both money and awareness for various deserving charities throughout that time from their concerts. The band will also be performing at the Victoria Rooms, Milverton, and at The Bandstand in Vivary Park, Taunton, in September.
