Will’s Neck, produced by Wellington’s own Quantock Brewery, has been voted best beer in the UK by the Society of Independent Brewers Association at its annual Beer X conference in Sheffield.
The award was presented by Neil Morrissey to Cheryl Ford and Rob Rainey both owners and Brewster and Brewer.
Rob owner and head brewer at Quantock Brewery said, “We’ve won awards before, but never anything on this scale. Having our beer recognised by our peers, and winning against so many other fine beers, is absolutely superb.”
SIBA chief executive Julian Grocock, said, “Winning at a regional heat and progressing to the national finals is an achievement in itself and the quality of beers judged at Beer X was of the highest standard, as all our judges would attest. To then come through to win one of the national awards is a real achievement and our hearty congratulations go to all the winners.”
Wills Neck is a light amber coloured beer and has an aroma of apricot and grapefruit and is refreshingly smooth. Available in cask and bottles.
Quantock Brewery is based in the Chelston Industrial estate in Wellington Somerset and the public are welcome to purchase on line or from the Brewery shop.
