Around a third of Wellington’s adult population has now signed a petition calling for the reintroduction of a bus service from Wellington to Musgrove Park Hospital. Town mayor Cllr Bob Bowrah received the petition from campaigner Debbie Pemberton.
Mrs Pemberton was able to tell the Mayor that there are now nearly 3,000 signatures in support of getting the return of a regular bus service to and from Wellington to the hospital. The Mayor thanked Mrs Pemberton and her team for all their hard work in raising the profile of this issue.
He was able to tell her that, together with the Town Clerk and Cllor Andrew Govier, he would soon be meeting representatives of Transporting Somerset to discuss the medical and social problems caused by the lack of a bus service from Wellington to Musgrove Park Hospital.
A recent meeting of the Town Council resolved that the lack of a regular service to the hospital was unacceptable to the community inthe town when there was such an obvious need.
