1st Wellington Scout Group and Rumwell Farm Shop teamed up once again to raise money for Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment (S.U.R.E) and the scout group, £390 in total.
The car wash was held in the Rumwell Farm Shop car park from 10am until 4pm and cost £4 per vehicle with £2 going to the Wellington Scouts and £2 to S.U.R.E.
“S.U.R.E is one of our charities of the year and we are so pleased that the scouts were happy to come on board again for the fundraiser, and also collected some money for their own activities,” said Anne Mitchell, joint owner of the farm shop.
Dave Belfield, Executive Chairman at the 1st Wellington Scout Group, said: “The money raised will be going towards improving the scouts camping and activities equipment, benefiting all age groups across Scouts, Cubs and Beavers.”
Paul Alway, Chairman at S.U.R.E, said: “We would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to Rumwell Farm Shop and the 1st Wellington Scout Group for organising this fundraiser for us. It is greatly appreciated.”
Anne added: “The £390 was divided equally between the two charities and they both received £195 each.”
