‘Have a go’ at heavy horse event

The Western Counties Heavy Horse Society is staging its 42nd annual working weekend on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th August at Hornsay Farm, Nynehead, providing an opportunity to see these wonderful animals in action.

There’s a full programme of events on both days from 10.30am to 4.00pm including scurry racing, logging and plaiting demonstrations and ‘Have-a-go sessions’ when spectators are invited to plough furrows behind the horses. There’s also ferret racing on Sunday at 2pm.

The society has its own stall at the event providing information about its programme of activities alongside food, drink and craft stalls.
