This Saturday sees the town’s Christmas Lights switched on in the lead-up to the festive season. This year the Switch On celebrations will be taking place from 4pm – 7pm. Wellington Town Council are excited to announce that the festivities will include live music from local band Filta and Skintight Samba band; as well as the Majorettes and Wellington Pantomime Group.
Representatives from the Fire and Police Services will be there promoting recent campaigns and the Celebration of Light will be taking place at the Quaker Meeting House. Children from Rockwell Green Primary will be recreating a Nativity scene, there will be carols sung round the tree and the Christmas Message given by the new Rev. Tim Treanor.
Wellington’s Lights this year will be turned on by The Mayor Cllr Gloria Copley and Amy Thorne and Brandyn Paske both specially selected from St John’s School.
All this will be taking place in High Street Wellington 30th November 4-7pm with performances and entertainment throughout. Wellington Town Council looks forward to celebrating with you there.
