Preparations for Christmas really took off with the arrival early on Thursday of the Wellington Christmas Tree.
Langford Lakes have now been donating the town’s tree for over 10 years. It is a great effort to cut such a large tree down, transport and erect the tree in an busy town centre.
The council workers removed the large planters outside the Royal Mail office in order to make room for the tree, which they then carefully lifted from the trailer into place. It takes some time and is quite a complex operation.
Warren’s Bakery came out and kindly gave complimentary hot drinks to the men working in the rain to bring Christmas spirit to the town. The Mayor Cllr Janet Lloyd was also there to thank all involved.
