Nick Girone-Maddocks’ next event is one of those intimate acoustic gigs like Nick’s ‘Friday Night Star – Revisited’ concert that took place in May. Again at the Friends’ Meeting House in Wellington, the 25th October sees three local singer / songwriters get together for a ”Songwriters’ Circle”.
A familiar format in cities such as Nashville, New York and Austin, in this gig the performers will play round-robin and take turns to introduce and play original material.
Nick’s done a few of these before, and this time he’s got some quality alongside him – Ange Hardy (www.angehardy.com) is an up-and-coming folk writer who has just achieved a Daily Telegraph 5-star review for her second album, The Lament of the Black Sheep. Also on the bill is West Somerset rising star Steve Pledger (www.stevepledger.co.uk )who just keeps getting better. Both Steve and Ange are performing together all over the west country this autumn, but the 25th October will be the best chance to see them in such a small setting, alongside your very own Nick Girone-Maddocks of course!
Tickets are just £10 each (£12 on the door) and are likely to go quickly, as there are only 50 seats in the venue! You can but, as always, buy tickets from Nick’s website www.nickgm.co.uk or from Gibbins Richards in Wellington High Street. Be quick! This’ll be a great one!
After that there’s something a little different for you on 9th November – look at www.teapadorchestra.co.uk for more details!
