Wellington made it three wins in three in Division One of the Western League with this success over Keynsham Town at home last weekend writes David Derrick.
As for this game it was similar to the opening home game of the season insofar as Wellington were the better side first up and took a deserved lead when Jack Porter got a glancing header on to a free kick that was sent into the Keynsham area and it went into the top right hand corner of the net.
But the lead was not preserved and built on as Keynsham equalised soon after when a bouncing ball caught out the home team’s back line and it was an easy job to slot home for the visitors.
Wellington did not let this setback linger for long though as Luke Redrup hit a volley in the second half that hit the post, but had enough on it to go in the goal and the lead was restored.
Ian Bellinger made the game safe with a solid shot into the bottom left had corner of the Keynsham net and with it three more points were Wellington’s.
The team are up to fifteenth place and will look to further improve that position when they host Roman Glass St George this coming weekend.
