Eat Wellington’s organisers have announced that the town’s 2018 food festival will be plastic free in terms of food and drink served on the day. “There are many improvements planned including the policy that the festival will be single-use plastic free, with all serveware being biodegradable,” said Bev Milner Simonds.
“We have worked hard with our producers and Somerset Waste Partnership to come up with a solution for waste management that allows our producers and visitors to minimise their impact on the environment. Alongside our other 24 Sustainability Goals we hope make a positive difference through our festivals.”
The team behind Eat:Wellington is also pleased to announce that they are now open for bookings for the 2018 food and drink festival. “Interested businesses need to apply via our website www.eatfestivals.org Here they will find more information about the event and the application process. There will be a special announcement in the New Year about our Bursary Scheme for new traders,” explained Bev
“We are looking forward to another great festival in Wellington on Saturday 1 September. The Hawksmoor Cookery School, tutored by Stefano from Olive & Rosy, the demo stage and Food Talks with BBC Somerset were all popular attractions this year and we hope to repeat these again.”
