Wellesley Park Primary School was overwhelmed by elves on Friday 8 December. Pupils and staff were transformed by top to toe red and green, pointy ears and assorted mischief – all in a very good cause.
The whole community responded to the Alzheimer’s Society’s Elf Day which has a very special significance for the school’s Year 4 Group Leader and English Lead, Mrs Fiona Doidge; her own Mum lost a long battle with the disease just over a year ago.
Pupils presented a whole-school assembly based on the Archie Project which encourages intergenerational dementia awareness. The project is based at Reminiscence Learning’s Tonedale offices.
Wellesley Park joined schools, offices and work places across the country in taking part in Elf Day where people ‘unleashed their inner elf’ to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.
