Year 10 students at Kingsmead School Wiveliscombe have reached the South West final of a Coca Cola sponsored national competition. Their task was to create a new ‘healthy soft drink’ for a target market of their choosing. They had to develop the new drink, design its packaging and create an on-pack promotion that would encourage healthy lifestyles and also take into account sustainability of ingredients and packaging materials.
The competition has been designed to help students develop enterprise skills that will give them a competitive edge in today’s job market.
The regional final will be held in Bristol on February 14th. Mrs Eele, Head of Business Studies said “I am very proud of all the students who have taken part. They have been creative, mature and very professional in their approach to their work and we wish them well in the regional finals.”
The winning group members are Abigail Coupe, Sian Halliday-Ash, Jamie Highfield, Amelia Mansell, Antonio Phillips, Robert Spiller and Adam Williams.
