If you want to free yourself from shop-made food and decorations to create your own DIY Christmas this year, Transition Town Wellington’s ‘Make Your Own Christmas Workshop’ may be just for you.
Members of the sustainable food group are hosting a ‘hands-on workshop’ to demonstrate how you can make your own mince pies, mincemeat, pastry, biscuits, sweets, stollen, dried orange decorations for the tree and lots more. And it’s all totally free – including materials – although donations are welcomed to help the group put on other events.
The ‘Festive Food and Homemade Decorations Workshop’ promising ‘fun for all the family’ is at Wellington Methodist Church, Waterloo Road, from 1.30 to 5pm on Saturday 28 November.
The Transition Network is a charity which works to inspire, encourage, connect, support and train communities to organise themselves around the Transition model. “Transition” refers to the changes needed for communities to move towards a “low-carbon, socially-just, healthier and happier future which is more enriching and more gentle on the earth than the way most of us live today.”
