The Friends of Wellington Park are ‘delighted’ that all available pitches for the Spring Fayre in the park on Sunday 30th April are already sold out.
A full and varied programme of stalls and entertainment has been organised and The Friends hope to see as many people as possible supporting the event. They also hope for much better weather than last year when continuous rain almost ruined the event.
The music for the Fayre this year will be provided by Beech Grove, St John’s and Wellesley Park primary schools choirs, followed by Genesis Youth Theatre Group showcasing young local talent. The Skintight Samba Band will close the Fayre and invite children to join them.
Over 30 stalls, many of them new, have been booked selling a wide range of goods from plants to pictures, cakes to cards, cider from The Cider Shack to soup and lots more.
There will be a small dog show and the Friends will be introducing their Mascot.
Refreshments – including teas, coffees, sandwiches, ices and a BBQ – are organised and, for children, there will be a bouncy castle, an inflatable slide, bubbles and more.
As well as the Spring Fayre the Friends of Wellington Park organise the Proms in the Park every Sunday during June, July and August.
