Bitter problems for the award-winning Quantock Brewery that began life in Wellington in a unit on the Chelston Business Park. Last week financial difficulties forced the business into administration – one step less severe than receivership. Only a year ago it moved out, seeking to expand into bigger premises in Bishop’s Lydeard.
“It is with deep regret that following a very difficult trading period we must announce that Quantock Brewery Ltd has gone into administration. We will continue trading as normal while a buyer who can take the business forward is found,” said a spokesman.
“Massive thanks to all our customers, suppliers, friends and family for their continued support and to our brew crew for their loyalty and hard work. Support your local brewery.”
The family-run business was set up in 2007 and has produced multi award-winning real ales.
