Parents and carers of pupils at Wellesley Park Primary School have been informed of the illness of the Head, Miss Lindsay Gabriel.
In his letter Chair of Governors, Mr Dave Farrow, said, “I am writing to inform you that Miss Gabriel is currently ill and will be absent from school until the end of April. To provide additional capacity and experience in the leadership team, Steve McShane (CAT Director of School Improvement) and I, have arranged for Mr Luke Talmage, Head Teacher of Manor Court Primary School, to spend some of his working week at our school.
“Mr Talmage is an experienced Head Teacher, having led two large Primary schools and working for the Local Authority as an LLE (Local Leader of Education) and will be supported by his colleagues when appropriate.
“This is a temporary measure, until Miss Gabriel has made a full recovery.”
Manor Park Primary School near Chard was formerly one the Collaborative Academy Trust’s schools. Last July it joined the Leo Academy Trust which manages 6 schools, four in Cheam, Surrey.
Wellesley Park is now in discussion with The Castle Partnership Trust which manages The Castle School in Taunton and Court Fields School in Wellington following The Collaborative Academies Trust’s decision to pull out of the school and four others in Somerset.
