Greenham potter Jacob Bodilly achieved national prominence recently with a full-page article in the Telegraph Magazine about his designer teapots – which sell for three-figure sums in London’s ritziest shops. This week Jacob is sharing an exhibition with local painter Claire Western at The Old Brick Workshop gallery, near the recycling centre.
Jacob, who studied ceramics at Cardiff University before working at the famous Leach Pottery in St Ives, told the Telegraph that “to get a good teapot all the components have to blend in. The balance is really important, especially the spout if you want one that pours well.”
His work on sale at The Old Brick Workshop includes vases, fruit bowls, coffee cups and milk jugs but sadly no teapots. They’re all made to order. Prices range from £22 to £400
