Young Wellington singer Jess Handley is the opening act at the Somerfest festival this Saturday. And slightly older Welly musician Huw Weston is the man behind all the tunes at the free midsummer celebration in the centre of Taunton.
There is live music on stage all day at the grass area in Goodland Gardens – and there will be a bar available later in the day provided by Mambo – from 10.30am – 8pm with a line-up of solo artists and bands:

- 12-1pm – Somerfest Procession
- 1.15-1.45pm – Hot Meat
- 2-3pm – Deane Big Band
- 3.15-3.45 – Grouvecat
- 4-4.45pm – Crow Dawn
- 5-5.45pm – FILTA
- 5.45-6.15 – Stu and Kiera
- 6.15-7pm – Hundred Faces
- 7.15-8pm – Fools and Horses
The day is programmed by Huw Weston of FILTA, a contemporary dance and pop band, based in Wellington who is also organising Welliestock on Saturday 5 July.

Somerfest is organised by Taunton Deane Borough Council, working with partners and organisations, to bring summer alive in the county town.
