Fire engines from Wellington and Taunton attended a report of a fire in a bedroom of a property at Weavers Reach, Tonedale.
On arrival the crew confirmed that everyone was out of the property and the fire was believed to be out but got to work using 2 breathing apparatus wearers and a hose reel jet as a precaution while investigating.
An ambulance was requested to attend for a male and a baby who were suffering from slight smoke inhalation. While awaiting the arrival of ambulance crews, the firemen administered oxygen to both casualties.
There was a small fire found in a bedroom of the property that the crews extinguished using a hose reel jet. A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to ventilate the property and disperse the smoke. Both casualties were handed over to the care of Ambulance crews and the Fire Service has now left the scene.
