The owner of The Merry Harriers at Clayhidon which was destroyed by two fires in 2016 and lay derelict before being demolished last month says it will be rebuilt.
Owner Reg Payne said: “It’s going to be rebuilt. The insurance companies have agreed a settlement. It took a long time because the fires were suspicious but I’ve been approached by a national chain. I can’t say much about that at the moment but it will be done as soon as possible depending on planning. In an ideal world we would like to move it back from the road, but that depends on getting planning permission.”
The two fires were treated as arson by Avon and Somerset Police but no arrests were made. They would still like to hear from anyone with information about the incidents.
