Tom Carson, a former pupil of Wellington School, will be included the Great Britain and England hockey team’s preparations for the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
Carson made his debut for England in 2013 playing against Belgium. He is regarded as a hard-working striker with an eye for goal having found his way onto the score sheet 14 times for England and 14 times for Great Britain. He has 54 England caps and 4 for Great Britain.
After leaving Wellington School, Tom graduated from Exeter University with a degree in Management and Marketing and appeared on Dragon’s Den with his clothing company YoungOnes.
Another accolade for the Carson family is that three of the boys, all Old Wellingtonians, Tom, Ed and James, will feature in the Indoor Hockey National Finals, which take place at Wembley Arena this weekend.
All three boys will turn out for Reading, the team that Tom captains, and whilst Tom is looking forward to training with the GB squad, James will be playing the USA this week in Barcelona as part of the Wales Men’s Hockey team.
The boys’ father, Andy, is a housemaster and teacher at Wellington School.
