Celebrations at Blackdown Garden Centre recently as four members of their catering team paraded their NVQ certificates for qualifications gained in hospitality, food and leisure. There are expanding times ahead for the restaurant, with plans in place to double the indoor floor space next year.
Increasing customer care was the ongoing objective for Restaurant Manager Tracey Ronson who completed the level 3 in Hospitality, Supervision & Leadership while three of her team also worked successfully to gain new qualifications. Joyce Penn completed the level 2 in Hospitality Services, Matt Darch the level 2 in Food & Beverage Service and Augustina Lewis the level 2 in Food Production & Cooking.
The courses were managed by HIT Training who are a major training provider for the hospitality and leisure industries and they provided assessors to mentor the team in the workplace with a mix of observation and task setting.
This latest success follows the business gaining the level 5 food hygiene rating in April of this year and
