Student and musician Will Hester is singing live in the final of choir competition show Pitch Battle on BBC1 this Saturday. Will, whose family live in Pyles Thorne Rd, is part of All the King’s Men, a nine-man acapella group based at King’s College London, where he studies Politics, Philosophy and Economics.
“We sing all sorts of stuff from Lady Gaga to Paul Simon and have performed at parties, weddings and even an acapella festival in Moscow last Easter,” said Will, 19. He auditioned for the well-established group in his first term at university and was good enough to get in first time.
“I started singing in junior school then sang in the chapel choir at Wellington School for seven years before I managed to get a choral scholarship at Kings,” he added.
All the King’s Men are one of six contestants in the final of Pitch Battle which is broadcast at 7.30pm on July
