Pupils at each of Wellington’s Primary Schools came out in spots on Friday 18 November – all in support of Children in Need’s Spotacular. Staff too joined in the ‘Wear Your Spots’ campaign and turned out in spotty style.
As well as spotty ties, spotty T shirts, spotty tights and leggings there were lots of spotty faces and Pugsy ears and and enterprising pupils at Rockwell Green Primary School had made their own costumes with scrap fabric circles and hand-painted T shirts.
Collections and donations from the ‘Wear Your Spots’ day at Beech Grove, Wellesley Park, Rockwell Green and St John’s Primary Schools all go to Children in Need.
The school council at St John’s C of E Primary School – two pupil representatives from each school year – added further proceeds by using the Children in Need Spotacular Fundraising Kit to organise an after-school cake sale, a ‘Guess the Number of Spots on the Cake’ competition and a raffle of a giant Pugsey Bear.
