Police are seeking witnesses who saw a two-car accident on the A38 at Beambridge Hill near Wellington on Wednesday 20th July. The accident resulted in injuries to five people, one of whom was unconscious and trapped in the vehicle.
Police and emergency services were called to a side-on collision at 6.20pm. An elderly man in one of the cars had to be cut free by firefighters before being airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol. His injuries are believed to be ‘life-changing’. Two other elderly casualties in the same car were taken to Musgrove Park Hospital by ambulance, together with the two occupants of the other vehicle.
The road was closed until 11.20pm.
Police are calling for witnesses to the accident to call 101 with the log number 1055.
