Pupils and staff from St John’s Primary School, Wellington held a ‘Tacky Tie Day’ to raise funds for the NSPCC, the leading children’s charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK.
The fundraiser, which took place on Friday 9th February 2018, was well supported with pupils and staff wearing their regular school uniform but adding the weirdest and wackiest choice of tie imaginable. Ties ranged from bright coloured bow ties to sparkly kipper ties and every design in between.
Mrs Clothier, St John’s Head teacher, said: “We are all really proud of the enormous effort that the children have made supporting the NSPCC. It’s such a great opportunity for people to have some fun while raising awareness for such a worthy cause. Everyone looked amazing!”
