Wellington bounced back after the midweek defeat by Clevedon Town with a 4-2 victory at home on 25 November against Cadbury Heath who lie just one place above them in the Toolstation Premier League.
Sam Towler put the home side ahead after just 9 minutes; Cadbury Heath equalised shortly afterwards but Kai Fisher’s goal just before half-time added a second to the Tangerines’ score.
In the second half the home side could thank Mitch Woodgate’s penalty save for keeping them ahead before Glen Wright scored the team’s third goal and Sam Towler added to his personal tally to complete a fine performance.
Cadbury Heath’s second goal at the end of the match was too late to challenge Wellington’s three point victory. Wellington are now in 17th place in the league and above the relegation zone.
The Tangerines‘ next match is a tough home fixture against Willand Rovers on 2 December. Willand are in 2nd place in the Toolstation Premier League and scored 11 goals without reply when the two teams last met on 13 September.
Wellington have been drawn against Clevedon Town in the quarter-finals of the Somerset Premier Cup. The match is due to be played during the week commencing 19 February 2018.
