Patients of Wellington surgeries can be reassured that concerns about the effectiveness and safety of GPs surgeries nationally as identified in recent inspections by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) do not apply to them.
Luson Surgery and Wellington Medical Centre have been inspected by the CQC within the last three years – Luson in 2016 and Wellington Medical Centre in 2015 – and both were rated as ‘Good’ in response to the following key questions: Are services safe? Are services effective? Are services caring? Are services responsive to people’s needs? Are services well-led?
Both surgeries were given an overall rating of ‘Good’ for the services provided.
The CQC has inspected more than 7,000 GP practices across the country over the last 3 years and have identified “pockets of persistent poor care” in a significant number. These practices have been marked as providing inadequate care in one or more of the areas of inspection.
