The last Wacky Wednesday of 2017 took place on Wednesday 20 December from 10.30am to 12noon at Wellington Baptist Church.
Wacky Wednesday organiser Shona Stone, Community Empowerment Officer for Knightstone Housing, said, “The Wacky Wednesday programme of events is put on by a very proactive partnership made up of a variety of different organisations working with and for the local Wellington community.
“Knightstone is a key partner but so is Getset, Wellington One Team, Churches Together, Somerset Skills & Learning, Better & Wellington Town Council. We work together to plan, finance, deliver and evaluate these events as well as bring our local knowledge together to keep using different locations and venues for these events to ensure that we meet as many residents in the local community as we can to promote services which are available to people and which they may not be aware of. We are planning 2018’s events so look out for our publicity early in the New Year!”
Wacky Wednesdays have proved hugely popular in Wellington over 2017 with hundreds of children, families and carers joining in the activities during school holidays. The events provide two hours of wholehearted fun for children and an opportunity for their parents and carers to both socialise and learn more about the services that are available in the local community.
