Wellington One hosts huge party

The Wellington One Team organised a ‘heart-warming’ Children’s Christmas Party for more than 120 children and their families at Wellington Baptist Church last week.

A team of frontline agencies – including Taunton Deane Borough Council, Wellington “getset” team, housing agency Knightstone, Tone Leisure and members of the Churches Together group – helped to fund and staff the party. Entertainment, a snow globe, a Santa’s Grotto and activities kept the children festively entertained.

Whilst this is the last event of a busy year for the Wellington One Team, during which more than 1,000 children and families have been involved in largely free events, they have a full diary of events already planned for 2017.

Cllr Jane Warmington, Executive Councillor for Community Leadership, said: “It’s a real pleasure to be involved in such a joyful event that means so much to local children and their families. It really is heart-warming to see the Wellington One Team, made up from people from all the agencies, coming making sure that everyone enjoys themselves and celebrates this special time of year.”
