Over the course of this year the Wellington One Team has entertained more than 1,000 children and families in the town, and are already busy planning new events for the autumn holidays and summer 2017
This year’s finale was held in Wellington Park where more than 200 attendees enjoyed a “Pirates and Princesses” themed picnic, free refreshments, a variety of arts and crafts events, and a treasure trail around the park.
The “Wacky Wednesdays” were themed and held in different locations around the town, enabling as many families as possible to attend.
The event organisers were delighted so many had joined in the fun and the effort and enthusiasm put into their fancy dress costumes.
The largely-free events are all funded, organised and staffed by a group of front line agencies who work closely together throughout the year to promote and organise community events in and around Wellington.
Representatives from Wellington Getset team, Taunton Deane Borough Council, Knightstone Housing, Tone Leisure, Churches Together and a host of volunteers all work extremely hard to ensure the success of these events.
