Local historian Colin Spackman is giving a talk on Thursday, June 15th, on books that have been written about the history of Wellington. The time span is from 1889 to 2016 with the first major work being The History of Wellington by A L Humphreys – as in Humphreys Road.
Other authors Colin plans to explore include Frank Webber, Robert Thorne and Gillian Allen. Topics covered will include the general history of the town, the Monument, the woollen industry, and other local organisations and businesses.
The event is in Wellington Library at 2.30pm. tickets £3.00 (£2.00 for Friends of the Library).
