Two local primary schools are ensuring that their pupils become fully aware of the needs of others by promoting fund-raising events for charity this week.
Wellesley Park Primary School pupils are invited to turn up at school on Wednesday 19th May in their standard school uniform but wearing – wigs!
The school is taking part in ‘Wig Wednesday’, a national event to raise money for CLIC Sargent, the charity which cares for children and young people suffering from cancer and provides support for families at home and in hospital from diagnosis onwards.
Rockwell Green Primary School is taking part in Dementia Awareness week by asking the children to wear red and yellow on Friday 22nd May. ‘Red and Yellow Day’ opens a full week of activities organised by Reminiscence Learning. Pupils are invited to make a suggested donation of £1 to support this charity.
