Three female entrepreneurs; Judith Goss, Karen Janas and Mandy Saunders held the floor at Wellington Business Association’s gala evening held at Tone Dale House.
With over 50 years experience in business as a retail florist Judith Goss was a fund of entertaining stories from waking at 2am to handle Interflora phone calls to her conviction that computers would never catch on in the retail world.
Karen now works as a trainer, counsellor and coach after a lengthy career at the Hydrographic Office in Taunton. She has established her business over the past six year by subscribing to the philosophy of “start early, stay late, work hard and advertise”.
Mandy is the newest recruit to self-employment. After many years in the High St travel business she decided six months ago to branch out on her own organising bespoke holidays for clients with very specific travel plans. Regular readers of Around Wellington will know that Mandy also trekked to Everest Base Camp a couple of months ago.
