Transition Town Wellington will be hosting a ‘scything skills brush-up session’ at Longacre on Monday from 10am to12.30am.
The session will be led by Andi Rickard from Somerset Scythe School: https://somersetscytheschool.com/ .
The environmental group say: “Andi is a great teacher and will be helping TTW volunteers refine our technique.
“You are welcome whether you’ve just started scything with TTW or you’ve been with us for a while. Tools will be provided.
“The meadow will appreciate a cut too to remove the winter’s growth of grass before seeds such as yellow rattle germinate, to help the wildflowers start with less competition.
“As it’s a good biodynamic day to plant raspberries, we’ll be arriving at 9am to get this job done before the scything session starts. “
