Wellington Choral Society are holding a Come and Sing event at Wellington Prep School Hall this Saturday from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
This is a free event with an open invitation for everyone interested in singing to join the choir’s Musical Director, Laurence Blyth. Music will be provided.
A spokesperson for the choir said: “Wellington Choral Society were thrilled to have a full house once again for our performance of Brahms’ German Requiem on Saturday, 28th March.
“Our audience said it was a memorable evening listening to such moving music performed by the choir.
“We were delighted to have two local Somerset soloists, Josephine Cresswell Soprano and William Drakett Baritone.
“There was a fantastic atmosphere in the church and the choir had a wonderful evening singing such beautiful music after all their hard work.
“Now we are onto our next venture is a Come and Sing event on Saturday.
“Laurence Blyth will be taking us through some of the choruses from Mozart’s Mass in C Minor for which we will start rehearsals in September 2026 and choruses from Verdi Requiem.
“Do come and join us. It is a chance to give us a go and see if you like what we do. We are a friendly choir and welcome new singers and you do not need to be able to read music.”
