Oliver Rowe, Head Boy at Wellington School, is celebrating Cambridge success. Oliver has been offered a place to study Classics at Cambridge, upholding a long tradition of Oxbridge classicists from the school.
Anson Tang, another sixth-former, has been offered a place at the Royal Scottish Academy to study piano.“We are delighted that so many of our Sixth Form are demonstrating their talent and versatility,” commented Headmaster Henry Price.
“Pupils display their abilities in a range of areas, showing their individual independence and creativity. Anson is one of several pupils who will be applying to the conservatoires this year and we celebrate their success as well as those who choose a more conventional academic path. The league tables demonstrate how we are able to enhance the experiences of pupils in the Sixth Form, allowing them to reach their goals in whatever field that may be,”
Recently published Department for Education League tables name Wellington School as second amongst all schools and colleges in Somerset for progress. This relates to the progress made from GCSE to A Level results, reinforcing one of the strengths of Wellington School Sixth Form as a sound academic choice. It puts the School well above the national average and in the top 5% in the country for this measurement!
