Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm has launched a new Christmas card design competition for children which aims to raise funds for the Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).
Langford Lakes owner, Reg Hendy, explained: “We’re asking children to come up with an eye-catching festive design and incorporate everything we love about Christmas. We will then choose one winner and three runners-up who will all have their cards made and sold to raise money for CHSW. The winner will also receive one of our home-grown Christmas trees.
“Entries can be hand-drawn or computer generated and can be in colour or black and white. All we ask is that there is a festive theme.”
He added, “The competition was such a success last year that we decided to do it again this year. Youngsters can be so creative, and we just love to see their festive creations.”
Children aged 11 years old and under can enter the competition and should send their entries to email@example.com or post them to Nick Hendy, Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm, Middle Hill Farm, Langford Budville, Somerset, TA21 0RS before 5pm on Friday November 2, 2018.
All entries must be accompanied with the child’s full name, age, school and contact details. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
CHSW is currently the only provider of specialist hospice care for children in the region. It offers much needed support for youngsters with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition and their families at its three hospices: Charlton Farm in North Somerset, Little Bridge House in North Devon and Little Harbour in Cornwall.
Wendy Pollard, Chair of the Wellington Friends Group of CHSW, said: “Thanks again to Langford Lakes for helping us raise awareness and funds for our three hospices. We hope lots of local schoolchildren take part and send in their festive designs. We can’t wait to see the winning cards printed in November.”
