Wellington Town Clerk, Kathryn Hemensley, is seeking to ensure that there are enough volunteers available to help others in the community during winter weather.
Volunteers already on the Town Council’s list are those willing to offer support to residents struggling with mobility or health issues who may require assistance such as clearing drives and paths and running errands.
Kathryn said, “There’s no doubt that our local countryside looks stunning when dressed up in a sprinkling of clear white snow. But for some, severe weather conditions can pose real problems, with slippery pavements and roads making it difficult to get out for essential supplies. All offers of help will be greatly appreciated.”
Anyone interested in adding their name to the volunteer list should contact the Wellington Town Council office in Fore Street, Wellington.
