My wife recently had a very bad fall outside HSBC bank in Wellington, writes Lee Troake. She was alone and was on the school run at the time. I would like to say thank you to many people for helping her. I know staff from HSBC and the Jewellers, helped shield her from the rain, phoned an ambulance, and phoned myself at work to collect the children.
As I say I don’t know names or how many Wellingtonians came to help my wife but I do know we both thank you for your kindness. My wife has two severe breaks in her leg, ligament damage and a broken ankle.
The kindness shown doesn’t happen in too many places and we are lucky to live here. My wife is still in hospital and will no doubt thank these people once she is mobile. I on the other hand don’t know individual names but extend my utter thanks. I don’t know if the people involved know this doesn’t happen everywhere. I know Wellington has its knockers, but it also has its saints.
