Residents at Rockwell Green have been grumbling about yet another road closure in connection with the much-delay flats at the Weavers Reach site. Some drivers have been ignoring the barriers to reach Westford and risk prosecution, warn police.
“Can I please remind all residents who have ignoring the road closure and driving through it, that they are not only committing an offence contrary to the Road Traffic Act but their insurance could be invalid as they have driven past a signed Road Closure,” said PCSO Steve Hill.
“I have recently seen a lot of posts on FaceBook complaining about the Road Closure at the junction with Oaken Ground and the new flats being built. Can I please remind everyone that Somerset county council and the developers of the new flats in Oaken Ground have applied for a Tempory Road Closure. This has been granted and will be in force until the work on the new wall has been completed.”
