Christmas alone? Churches Together in Wellington are going to provide a traditional lunch for anyone who finds themselves solo on the big day – thanks to a young Mum on her own who has volunteered to help cook a meal.
But the organisers still need ‘peelers’ on Christmas Eve morning to prepare vegetables, and helpers on Christmas Day. Please let Isabel know if you can offer some time to lend a hand, on either day
The meal will happen in the United Reformed Church hall, in Fore Street and is for anyone on his or her own who is not with family and friends on Christmas Day.
There will be locally sourced traditional roast turkey and trimmings, with Christmas pudding and mince pies accompanied by a glass of wine or fruit juices. The charge will be £5 per person.
We plan to welcome our guests at 12.30pm with a glass of sherry/or fruit juice and begin our Lunch at 1.00pm. We will provide a nut roast if asked for in advance. Tickets will be issued on receipt of your payment of £5.
Access for wheelchair users is via the ramp to the church hall. Car parking is available opposite the church in North Street.
Please ring Isabel on 6677456 to reserve a place, giving your name, address and telephone number, or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
