The Blackbird Inn on the A38 just outside Wellington has been sold. The new owners are experienced publicans, Peter Welling and Yvonne Mulvihill, a husband and wife team who own the County Hotel in Haverfordwest.
The Blackbird Inn is a Grade II listed building dating back to 1773. It was placed on the market for £375,000 in September 2017 by owners Phil and Keirstan Anderson who had been publicans since 2006.
It is believed the new owners intend to carry out improvements to increase the number of en suite rooms – there are currently 6 rooms available – and expand the bed and breakfast business. Other plans include improvements to the bar and dining areas, the enhancement of the exterior of the building, the parking area and paddock.
The Blackbird Inn is noted for its sign, believed to be original and recently renovated.
