One of Wellington’s most successful businesses is taking cheese to China. Somerdale International, the leading exporter of British cheese to over 50 countries around the globe, will be showcasing the ‘best of British cheese and dairy products’ at HOFEX, Asia’s leading Food & Hospitality trade show. The event which is being held between 8-11 May at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre expects to attract over 50,000 regional trade buyers.

Somerdale’s stand at HOFEX will showcase its extensive range of British cheeses, butter and cream and it believes that the event will provide a strong platform from which to build further its sales and relationships in both Hong Kong and the wider Chinese and Asian marketplaces. Somerdale already has an established presence in the region having developed a network of regional distributors covering Hong Kong and the major Chinese cities. It also has instigated regular sea and air shipments to Hong Kong and Shanghai. It supplies cheeses in a range of retail packs as well as foodservice specific products to restaurants, hotels and food manufacturers. While, it has also developed a position in the growing retail and B2B e-commerce sectors.
