This year for Somerset Open Studios 2018 a number of artists and venues local to Wellington are taking part in this 15-day countywide series of exhibitions and studio openings from Saturday, Sept 15th.
The Old Brick Workshop’s studio members and invited guest artists will be putting on a fantastic show of work in The Gallery and throughout the rest of the building. The studios will also be open so you can see where and how their work is created. This exhibition will give you an opportunity to see a massive variety of work and styles all under one roof. The artists exhibiting this year are Alison Cosserat, Anna Newland Hooper, Claire Griffith, Diana Pilcher, Genevieve Murray, James Marsden, Judy Crosher, Tina Hill, Jane Kelly, John Nutt, Deborah Stevens

Alexandra Lavizzari’s atmospheric medium-sized sea- and landscapes of Cornwall, Dartmoor and the Somerset Levels as well as pet portraits in soft pastels, oil and mixed media (£40-£300); giclée prints and lots of cards; photography, both abstract and figurative, mounted or framed.

Caroline Macmillan-Davey has been a professional artist for over 30 years. There will be a large variety of original paintings for sale from under £100 – £1000, along with prints and cards. Penny is a designer / maker of contemporary silver jewellery and small scale sculptures. Her work is sculptural and strongly structural. Minimalist and mostly monochromatic in style using oxidisation and texture with occasional additions of paint, stone, glass and brick.
A background in theatrical costume design is evident in Bernadette Jones figurative sculptures that develop from a narrative and usually involve symbolic natural elements.” I work using wire, textiles, paper clay and acrylic media.
