Wellington have failed to progress further in the Emirates FA Cup losing their replay against Bridport 0-3 on Wednesday 15 August. The score was 0-0 at Bridport on Saturday 11 August
The match was officially a home fixture for the Tangerines but was played at Cullompton as the North Street ground is unavailable for the club until September due to cricket fixtures.
Bridport’s victory was described as ‘comfortable’ due to two goals from Oscar Latas and one from Leighton Thomas.
Latas opened the scoring on 25 minutes following a short corner but Wellington’s free-kick shortly afterwards drew a diving save from Bridport’s goalkeeper Jason Hutchings.
After the interval Bridport dominated, drawing a couple of good saves from the Wellington keeper before their second goal on 70 minutes.
Bridport’s third goal came after 80 minutes when Latas got on the end of a through-ball and fired in from a narrow angle.
Wellington missed the chance of adding £2,250 to the club’s coffers as winners but take £750 as losers.
The Tangerines’ next match is on Saturday 18 August against Odd Down (Bath). Both teams are looking for their first win of the season in the Toolstation Premier League.
