Wellington have yet to earn points in the Toolstation Premier League following their 5-0 defeat at Plymouth Parkway on Wednesday 22 August.
Against a side that lost only one match last season in the South West Premier League and which featured two former Plymouth Argyle players and one formerly at Swindon Town, the Tangerines were a goal down after just five minutes.
Jack Bryant’s effort three minutes later almost levelled the scores but the home side added two more without reply before the half-time whistle.
Wellington are said to have played better in the second half as Clive Jones managed to get his players to close down the midfield to restrict Parkway’s technical superiority but two more goals put the match well beyond their reach.
Clive Jones has added two new signings to the team and expressed his hope that, once the Tangerines are back at the North Street ground, they will be able to put points on the board.
The Tangerines’ next match is on Saturday 1 September in the FA Vase against Saltash United. This is a home fixture but will be played at Cullompton FC due to a cricket match on the North Street ground.
