Wellington Football Club’s hopes of returning to action on Saturday 3rd February resulted in disappointment when overnight rain caused the fixture at Brislington to be called off. The team has been off the pitch for the last 2 weeks due to postponements and the fixture schedule.
The match against Brislington – a team just 3 places and 4 points ahead of the Tangerines in the Toolstation Premier League – might have been seen as a strong test of the growing confidence in the Wellington camp.
Next week’s fixture at home against Chipping Sodbury Town is potentially a tougher test as the visitors are 11th in the league. The Tangerines and their Manager Clive Jones would welcome strong local support for the match.
