Wellington missed a chance to build on their current run of fine form when they suffered a 4-2 defeat at Clevedon Town on Wednesday 22 November.
Clevedon lie eight places above the Tangerines in the Toolstation Premier Division but, after recent successes, this might have been regarded as a potentially close encounter for the visitors. However, the home side scored their first goal after just 2 minutes, the second only coming 5 minutes later.
Ian Bellinger managed to pull one goal back 10 minutes into the match but Clevedon added a third goal after 33 minutes.
A penalty in the second half put the home side further ahead and Jack Bryant’s goal for Wellington was marginal compensation for a defeat by a team featuring five teenagers.
Clevedon claimed ‘a huge win’; ‘Not the greatest game’ was the verdict on the match from the visitors viewpoint.
Wellington are at home on Saturday 25th November when they play Cadbury Heath who lie only three places above them in the league
