Wellington AFC made progress in the Somerset Premier Cup by scoring five goals and only conceding one in their match against Chard on Wednesday 7 November. The Tangerines are now through to the last eight of the competition.
Playing away from home but against a team in mid-table one division lower in the Toolstation League, Wellington were the more likely winners. They scored their first goal just 11 minutes into the fixture and were 0-3 up by half time.
Chard pulled back a single goal at the beginning of the second half but Wellington went on to score two more in the closing minutes of the game.
Ian Bellinger scored two goals with Jack Bryant, Sam Towler and Kai Fisher also getting on the score sheet.
Wellington face a stiff test on Saturday 11 November when they travel to Southampton to play Sholing in the FA Vase. The hosts play in the Premier Division of Sydenhams Wessex League and are currently in 3rd place. Sholing won the FA Vase in 2014 beating Aukland 1-0 at Wembley. WAFC Manager Clive Jones hopes to field a full-strength side with the return of Tom Legg and his captain, Tom Legg.
